SAN SEBASTIAN AND LA RIOJA SPAIN

The Basque Country

SAN SEBASTIAN - FILM FESTIVAL

SAN SEBASTIAN was the most fashionable summer resort in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century, and has an elegant traditional promenade all along its curving beach. Today it is delicately old-fashioned.

The city is renowned for its summer arts festivals, street life centered in the old town, and unrivaled pintxos (local version of tapas).

WINE TOUR

LA RIOJA WINES

The Rioja wine region, which extends into Navarro and Alava has been producing wine since the Middle Ages.

Vines have taken root extremely well on the sunny hillsides, the soil irrigated by the Emro river and its tributaries.

Atlantic winds blow across the western part, while the Eastern part is subject to Mediterranean winds.

There are 3 sub-regions: Rioja Alta,Rioja Baja and Rioja Alavesa. There are over 450 wineries in the region. Typical grape varities used are Tempranillo and Garnacha.

“FOREST FASCINATION”

OUR FASCINATION WITH THE FOREST TRANSCENDS BOTH TIME AND CULTURES, AND ITS SOCIAL SIGNIFICANCE HAS CHANGE SUBSTANTIALLY OVER THE COURSE OF HISTORY. THIS COLLECTION AIMS TO TAKE A DEEP LOOK INTO THIS ATTRACTION, THROUGH A JOURNEY AND REPRESENTATIONS OF THE FOREST CREATED BY ARTISTIC MOVEMENTS...

IMPRESSIONISM,EXPRESSIONISM, NEW BRITISH SCULPTURE, LAND ART, NEO-EXPRESSIONISM AND POP ART.

IT IS A SPECIFICE CALL , A DISTRESS CALL FROM THE FORESTS ABOUT THE ALARMING RATE OF DEFORESTATION, AND THE IRREVERSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS FOR ALL THE INHABITANTS OF OUR PLANET.

GOODBYE TO THIS BEAUTIFUL REGION AND THE LAND OF THE “PILGRIMS’

SHELL”
